NEW YORK, N.Y. - The BIG EAST Conference announced its weekly awards today (Aug. 31). Among the honorees, junior Mac Steeves (Needham, Mass.) was named BIG EAST Offensive Player Of The Week.
Steeves registered four goals over the weekend, two in a 2-1 overtime win over Bryant and the other two in a 2-0 shutout of Monmouth. Steeves leads the BIG EAST Conference in points (8), goals (4), points per game (4.0) and game-winning goals (2). Additionally, Steeves now has six goals in the last three games he has played for Providence.
In addition to Steeves honor, freshman Brendan Constantine (Glastonbury, Conn.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. In his collegiate debut, Constantine registered an assist on Steeves' equalizing goal in the 2-1 overtime win of Bryant.
The Friars return to the field at 5:00 p.m. on Sept. 4 when they travel to Holy Cross.
