Men's Soccer Ranked 10/23 In The Nation

Oct. 21, 2014 PROVIDENCE, R.I. -

It was announced on Tuesday, Oct. 21 that the Providence College men's soccer team is ranked No. 10/23 in the nation by Soccer America and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). The last time the team was ranked among the top-25 in the country was on Oct. 8, 2013 (25/23 - NSCAA/Soccer America).



Providence is on a three-game winning streak after defeating then No. 3 Georgetown, 2-0, on the road (10/15) and recording a home win against St. John's 3-2 (10/18).



After the weekend, sophomore Mac Steeves (Needham, Mass.) and red-shirt senior Markus Naglestad (Kristiansand, Norway) were recognized for their performances. Steeves was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after tallying five points from two goals and an assist over the course of the week. Naglestad was named College Sports Madness BIG EAST Men's Soccer player of the Week after tallying a total of four points off of two goals, one in each game.



Next up for the Friars is an away game at No. 15/20 Marquette on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 8:05 p.m.
