Marc Cintron Named To Hermann Trophy Watch List

Providence College senior men's soccer midfielder Marc Cintron (Piscataway, N.J.) was one 42 players named to the 2012 Missouri Athletics Club Hermann Trophy Watch List on Monday, August 13.
The MAC Herman Trophy is the highest individual award in intercollegiate soccer presented annually in January during a banquet at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis. The list will be narrowed down by National Soccer Coaches Association members from Division I programs to 15 semifinalists by November 29. Member coaches and fans will then vote for their top three choices and the finalists will be announced December 6. The winners will be announced at the awards' banquet at the Missouri Athletic Club on Friday, Jan. 11.
Last season, Cintron earned All-BIG EAST Third Team honors and was named to the NSCAA All-Northeast Region First Team. Cintron finished third on the team in scoring with 11 points on three goals and a team-high five assists in 2011. Nine of his 11 points came in BIG EAST Conference matches. Most recently, Cintron was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Conference Team on August 6.
In 2011, Providence posted an 11-8-1 overall record and advanced to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament for second consecutive season. The Friars will open the 2012 campaign on August 24 at Northeastern.
