Providence College men's soccer red-shirt sophomore Wilder Arboleda (Pawtucket, R.I.) was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, September 12. It marks the first time in his career that Arboleda has earned the honor. Senior goalkeeper Jhojan Obando (Kissimmee, Fla.) was named to the weekly honor roll.

Arboleda scored two match winners to lead the Friars to a pair of 1-0 victories last week. On September 5, he scored in overtime as the Friars defeated Rhode Island and capture their second consecutive Ocean State Soccer Classic. For his efforts, Arboleda was named tournament MVP. On September 10, Arboleda's second half goal was the difference as the Friars defeated Sacred Heart and earned their fourth consecutive victory.

Obando, who was named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week last week, recorded two shutouts in wins over Rhode Island and Sacred Heart. Overall, Obando has three consecutive clean sheets and has not conceded a goal in 339:01.

The Friars (4-1), who are ranked No. 23 in this week's College Soccer News national poll, will seek their fifth consecutive win when they host Holy Cross on Wednesday, September 14 at 3:00 p.m. at Glay Field.
