The Providence College field hockey program is highlighting each of its current student-athletes in a segment entitled "Meet The Friars". Each student athlete answers a series of questions, allowing followers of the program to gain a closer perspective of the team and the student-athletes whom comprise the roster.
In our eighth edition of Meet The Friars, we get to hear from Christie Lonsky. Christie is a native of Digmans Ferry, Pennsylvania and is a rising junior on the team. In 2010, Christie played 17 games and appeared in the starting line-up 14 times. She tallied five points on two goals and one assist.
Now let's meet Christie Lonsky!
1. Why did you decide to come to PC?
I came to Providence because I felt at home when I visited the campus. I also felt welcomed by the coaches, my teammates and any of the faculty that I had met. I knew that at PC I would get an excellent education and an amazing opportunity to play on an exceptional field hockey team.
2. What is your favorite TV channel? Why?
My favorite TV channel is Animal Planet. I love this channel because there are so many different things on it! To name a few, I really enjoy watching I Shouldn't be Alive and Fatal Attractions.
3. What are three things you have never done, but want to do and why?
If I had to choose three of the many things I want to do, I would choose; Travel through Italy, Skydiving and hike the Appalachian Trail with friends. I want to travel through Italy because some of my family is from there and I have always wanted to see how incredible it is. I want to go skydiving for the thrill, I think it would be extremely exciting and there is nothing else like it! Lastly, I want to hike the Appalachian because I like the outdoors and think it would be a fun experience.
4. What is your favorite accessory? Why?
My favorite accessory is my shoes. I love shoes because, while most of the time I am wearing sweats I can change my shoes to match how I feel that day, whether it be Nikes or just Uggs.
