Rock Hill, S.C. - Providence College softball (5-10) was defeated, 2-1, by Wright State on Sunday, March 13 to wrap up its play in the Winthrop Adidas Classic in Rock Hill, S.C.

Wright State jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the third inning behind a pair of RBI doubles by Louie Haney and Kacie Rapshus.

Providence got on the board in the sixth inning when sophomore Jessie Bryant (Marlborough, Mass.) singled to right field to drive in senior Justine Stratton (Fresno, Calif.).

Sophomore Corinne Clauss (Davie, Fla.) was in the picher's circle for the Friars and pitched six innings, allowing only two earned runs on six hits.

The Friars are back in action tomorrow when they play a double header against Furman at 3:00 p.m. in Greenville, S.C.
