Cancelled Event: Softball versus Tarleton State

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Providence College softball team was defeated at Syracuse, 10-2, Sunday afternoon in a BIG EAST Conference game played in Syracuse, N.Y.
Syracuse (19-16, 5-3 BIG EAST) took a 2-0 lead in the first inning as Lacey Kohl and Stacy Kuwik hit RBI singles. Providence (12-18, 3-5 BIG EAST) responded in the third inning and tied the game at 2-2. Sophomore Michelle Huber (Dana Point, Calif.) hit a triple to drive in a run and cut the lead to 2-1 and she came around to score on an error. The Orange regained the lead for good in the fourth inning as it scored five runs to break open the game. Kohl capped off the inning with a two-run single. Syracuse sealed the win in the fifth inning with three more runs.
Huber had two hits for PC as Syracuse's Jenna Caira held the Friars to three hits and one earned run.
The Friars are back in action on Tuesday, April 13 when they host Harvard at 4:00 p.m.
