FRESNO, Calif. - The Providence College softball team was dealt a 3-0 loss by ninth-ranked Cal Saturday afternoon in the Bayer CropScience Classic in Fresno, Calif. The Bears improved to 15-3, while the Friars fell to 2-9.

Cal scored one unearned run in the second, third and seventh inning to record the win. Marissa Drewrey pitched a complete game for the Bears as she allowed just two hits and struck out five batters. PC's Danielle Bertolette (Temecula, Calif.) did not yield an earned run and struck out four batters.

Providence will play Fresno State tonight at 10:00 P.M. EST.
