RIVERSIDE, Calif. - The Providence College softball team was defeated by Longwood, 6-0, on Friday, March 13 in the first game of the Amy S. Harrison Classic in Riverside, Calif.

Longwood scored the only runs it would need in the second inning as three Lancers crossed the plate for a 3-0 lead. Longwood belted four hits in the second inning, including Tricia Nelson's RBI double. The Lancers added three more runs in the sixth inning to seal the win.

Senior Mary Rose Sheehy (Woodbridge, Conn.) led the Friars as she extended her hit streak to five games with two more hits.
