PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College men's soccer player Eoin Lynch (Yarmouth, Maine) was honored as the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, October 3, 2005. Lynch propelled Providence past 25th-ranked Georgetown, 3-2, in a BIG EAST match-up on October 1. He scored two goals, including the game winner in the 77th minute of action, and added one assist against the Hoyas.
Lynch assisted on the Friars' first goal of the afternoon and then connected on a tally to put PC ahead, 2-0. After the Hoyas tied the score at two goals apiece, Lynch scored the game-winning goal in the 77th minute to lead the Friars to victory.
The Friars remain the only unbeaten men's soccer team in the BIG EAST Conference with the victory as they improve to 4-0-5 overall and 2-0-3 in the league.
Providence will return to action on Wednesday, October 5 against 13th-ranked Connecticut. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. in Storrs, Conn.
