Men's Soccer Announces 2004 Season Schedule

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - A visit by NCAA runner-up St. John's to Providence College's Glay Field highlights the Friars' 2004 soccer schedule, announced today by Head Coach Chaka Daley.
"The 2004 schedule could very well be the most challenging schedule that I have seen in my 11 year history with the Providence College Men's Soccer program," Daley said.
Providence will begin the season with two games at the Holiday Inn City Centre Classic in Peoria, Ill. The Friars will play host Bradley University on September 3 and Drake on September 4. The BIG EAST portion of the schedule begins the following week with a September 11 home opener against Villanova.
Providence will play a total of seven non-conference games. In addition to the Bradley Tournament, the Friars will travel to Rhode Island (September 14) and Harvard (October 27). They will host Central Connecticut (October 5), Brown (October 12) and Sacred Heart (November 2).
"If we want to become one of the most respected programs in New England, the BIG EAST Conference, and the nation, our 2004 schedule has to become the norm and we must look forward to and conquer the challenges that lie ahead for this program," Daley stated. "Our schedule will be a great challenge for us after the small strides made by our program over the last two years, but it is one that we all look forward to."
