Men's Soccer Preview

Georgetown University Hoyas (1-3-0) - The Hoyas come to Glay Field with a 1-3-0 record. In its most recent game, Georgetown posted a 2-0 victory on September 10 against Navy. Scoring the two goals were freshman back Jeff Curtin (Oreland, Pa.) and freshman forward Kemmons Feldman (Eden Prarie, Minn.). Feldman is currently leading the team in points with three. Saturday's game will mark the second BIG EAST contest for the Hoyas this season. Georgetown is 0-1-0 in the BIG EAST after it was defeated on September 7 by Syracuse, 3-2, in overtime. In his 18th year as head coach, Keith Tabatznik has a very young squad consisting of three seniors, four juniors, eight sophomores and eight freshmen this season. The Hoyas are looking to extend their winning record against Providence. All-time, Georgetown has accumulated a 6-5-1 record against the Friars. The Hoyas were picked to finish eighth in this season's BIG EAST Preseason Poll.

Providence College Friars (1-2-0) - In their only game this week, the Friars will play Georgetown at Glay Field on September 14. Senior midfielder Mauricio Solano (Coral Springs, Fla.) leads the team in scoring this season. Solano is the only Friar to tally both a goal and an assist. His three points and seven shots are both team-highs. In goal, senior Michael Greulich (Cincinnati, Ohio) has made 18 saves and played in all 270 minutes this season. In his last game against Rutgers on September 7, Greulich saved nine shots which ties him for the most saves in a conference game this season. The Friars look to extend their home winning streak against the Hoyas to three. The last PC loss at home to Georgetown was a 2-1 defeat in 1994. PC Head Coach Chaka Daley is in his third year and holds a 1-1 record against the Hoyas.
