PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Providence College Soccer Assistant Coach Chaka Daley was signed by the New England Revolution of the MLS on June 14. Daley, a native of Toronto, Ontario, becomes the first former Friar to play in the MLS. Prior to signing with the Revolution, he had played 10 games this season for the Revolution's A-League affiliate the Boston Bulldogs

A 1996 graduate of the College, Daley has served as an assistant under Head Coach Brian Ainscough for three seasons. After graduating from Providence, he played for two seasons for the Rhode Island StingRays of the USL. In 1998, the former Friar defender played 13 games for the Boston Bulldogs, then known as the Worcester Wildfire, before missing the remainder of the season with a broken foot.

This marks Daley's first full-time stint with the Revolution. He played for the Revolution in exhibition matches against the Boston Bulldogs on May 5 and against Santa Clara of Portugal on June 10.
