As a Freshman: Placed ninth in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.57) at the BC Catholic Invitational…Placed second in the 100 scm breaststroke (1:09.39) and fourth in the 200 scm breaststroke (2:37.12) against Fairfield…At the Harold Anderson Invitational, Southren placed seventh in the 50 freestyle (22.12), fifth in the 100 breaststroke (59.75), and third in the 200 breaststroke (2:08.17)…Southren qualified for the BIG EAST Championships in Geneva, Ohio in the 50 freestyle and 100 and 200 breaststrokes.
Before Providence: Earned five varsity letters swimming at Suffern High School starting in eighth grade…captain during Senior year…holds school record in the 100 freestyle, 4x200 medley relay, and 4x200 freestyle relay…holds county record in the 100 freestyle… Section 1 champion in the 50 freestyle during senior year…earned two varsity letters in soccer…earned four varsity letters in crew.
Personal: Born June 11, 1999…Son of David and Paula Southren…has one brother, Daniel, a student at Washington University in St. Louis, and two sisters, Brianna, a student at Saint Louis University and Gabriela…plans on studying finance.
