As a Freshman: Placed fifth in both the 100 backstroke (55.72) and 200 backstroke (2:00.74) at the New England Catholic Invite…Placed second in the 100 backstroke (54.82), third in the 200 backstroke (2:00.56), and first in the 200 IM (2:04.13) against Bryant…Placed third in the 200 scm IM (2:17.57) against Fairfield…At the Harold Anderson Invitational, McLaughlin placed second in the 200 IM (1:55.53), second in the 100 backstroke (52.25), and fourth in the 200 IM (1:53.62)…Placed second in the 100 backstroke (55.13) against Holy Cross…Placed first in the 100 scm backstroke (1:00.98) against Maine…At the BIG EAST Championships in Geneva, Ohio McLaughlin placed 16th in the 200 IM (1:52.85), 15th in the 100 backstroke (52.00), and 16th in the 200 backstroke (1:53.67).Â
Before Providence: Attended Yorktown High School and swam his Freshman and Senior year… Swam for his club team beginning at age six and captained the team his Senior year… Was All League and All Sectional for Varsity Swimming… Earned scholastic honors for the two years he swam for his High School… Was involved in the Big Buddy program.
Personal: Born April 16, 1999… Son of Bruni and Mark McLaughlin… has one bother James who swam at King’s College… Two sisters Genevieve who attends Manhattan College and Faith…  Business Management Major.
