As a Senior: At the Harold Anderson Invitational, Thompson placed 26th in the 50 freestyle (23.57), 11th in the 200 freestyle (1:50.42), and 24th in the 100 freestyle (52.95)…Placed fifth in the 200 scm freestyle (2:01.01) and eighth in the 100 scm freestyle (56.92) against Fairfield…Thompson qualified for the BIG EAST Championships in Geneva, Ohio where he competed in the 50, 100, and 200 freestyles.

As a Junior: Placed 16 in the 200 yard freestyle (1:54.36) and was a member of both the 200 and 400 freestyle relays that placed sixth at  the BC Catholic Invitational…At the Harold Anderson Invitational, Thompson placed 19 in the 50 freestyle (23.17), fifth in the 200 freestyle (1:47.74), and 22 in the 100 freestyle (50.40) and was a member of the 400 medley relay that placed ninth, the 200 freestyle relay that placed sixth, and the 400 freestyle relay that placed ninth… Placed fifth in the 50 scm freestyle (26.35) against Georgetown… Thompson qualified for the BIG EAST Championship in the 50, 100, and 200 freestyles. He placed 25 In the 50 (22.80), 21 in the 200 (1:46.61), and 26 in the 100 (49.49).

Before Providence: Earned four varsity letters in swimming at Monsignor Donovan High School ... Captained the team his senior year ... Earned captain's award his freshman and sophomore year and coaches award his senior year ... Assisted the team in earning an undefeated record in the regular season his junior and senior years and being named top team in Division B his junior and senior year ... Helped his team win the Ocean County Championships and place second in the Shore Conference Championships his senior year ... Earned honor roll all four years.
