Kiki Baldassari enters her second season as a part of the coaching staff. After having spent last season as the team’s graduate assistant, Baldassari moves into the role of assistant coach in 2018. Baldassari joins the staff after a stellar four-year career for the Friars.  In the Providence career records, Baldassari ranks first in batting average (.362), third in stolen bases (52), fourth in runs scored (108) and fourth in hits (201). In her senior year, Baldassari led the BIG EAST conference in hits (65) and triples (three). She batted .378, good for second on the team and fifth in the conference, and scored 40 runs and stole 13 bases, both team highs. Baldassari recorded 21 multi-hit games and two four hit games. She started all 49 games for the Friars in center field and recorded a .958 fielding percentage. Baldassari was named to the All-BIG EAST First Team, and Stetson Invitational All-tournament team.  Baldassari’s 65 hits rank second on the Friars single season record while her 40 runs rank third. Baldassari’s junior campaign was cut short after only 26 games due to a season-ending injury. Despite the shortened season, Baldassari led the team in batting average (.386) while recording 32 hits, eight runs scored, four doubles, two triples and nine RBI.  In 2014, Baldassari started all 35 games for the Friars. She registered a team high .356 batting average, 42 hits, 18 runs scored and 12 stolen bases. In the BIG EAST, Baldassari tied for first for hits (28), second in stolen bases (7), and fifth in batting average (.418). Baldassari earned BIG EAST honor roll on 5/5 and was named to the All-BIG EAST First Team. As a freshman, she started all 52 games while recording a .341 batting average, 62 hits, 42 runs scored, 10 RBI, one double and 22 stolen bases. Baldassari’s efforts were rewarded as she was named College Sports Madness Softball’s BIG EAST Rookie of the Year. Baldassari’s 182 at-bats in the 2013 season rank tied for third on the Friars single season record list, while her runs (42) and hits (62) rank second and third, respectively.



At Providence:

2016: Led the BIG EAST Conference with 65 hits … Had a team-high 40 runs scored, which ranked fourth overall in the BIG EAST … Led the conference with three triples … Batted .378, which was second on the team and fifth in the conference … Had 21 multi-hit games, including two games with four hits in each … Led the team with 13 stolen bases … Started all 49 games in center field, tallied 63 putouts and a .958 fielding percentage … Finished her career setting the record at Providence for highest career batting average with .359, fourth most runs scored with 103, fourth most hits with 195, and second most stolen bases with 50 … Was named to the All-BIG EAST First Team … Named to the Stetson Invitational All-Tournament Team on Feb. 28 … Named to the College Sports Madness 2016 BIG EAST Preseason All-Conference Second Team.
2015: Played in 26 games before suffering a season-ending injury … Led the team in batting average (.386) … Recorded 32 hits, eight runs scored, four doubles, two triples and nine RBI … Was 5-for-7 in stolen base attempts … Registered a .947 fielding percentage in center field … Tallied 10 multi-hit games … Went 4-for-5 at DePaul on March 28 … Led the BIG EAST in an individual game-high for triples with two in a game (vs. Seton Hall on April 6) … Ranked fifth in the conference in batting average (.386) … Named to the College Sports Madness Preseason All-BIG EAST First Team. 
2014:
 Started all 35 games for the Friars ... Registered a team-best .356 batting average, 42 hits, 18 runs scored and 12 stolen bases ... Recorded at least one hit in 27 of the Friars' 35 games ... Also had nine multi-hit games ... In the BIG EAST, Baldassari ended the year ranked tied for first in hits (28), tied for second in stolen bases (7) and fifth with a .418 batting average (conference only) ... Named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on May 5... Named First Team All-BIG EAST ... Earned College Sports Madness All-Conference Team ... Picked for the College Sports Madness Preseason All-Conference First Team. 
2013: Started all 52 games for the Friars as a freshman ... Recorded a .341 batting average including 62 hits, 42 runs scored, 10 RBI and one double ... Her 62 hits led the Friars ... Had team-best 22 stolen bases in 25 attempts... Had a .988 fielding percentage with a 74 putouts ... Named College Sports Madness Softball's BIG EAST Rookie of the Year on May 7.
