PROVIDENCE, R.I.- It was announced today (April 20) that Providence College softball student-athlete Addy Frye (New Castle, Pa.) was named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week, while
Emily Jonte (Allen, Texas) earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll following strong performances in midweek wins over BU and Brown and a series victory against UConn.
Frye led the Friars in the circle, posting a 1.40 ERA over 10.0 innings pitched. She recorded 11 strikeouts while going 2-0 on the week, earning wins over Brown and UConn. Her victory against UConn clinched the series for Providence and helped the Friars maintain first place in the BIG EAST.
Jonte started all five games and led the Friars offensively with a .500 batting average (7-for-14), totaling six runs scored, six RBI, one home run, and a .786 slugging percentage. She also posted a .619 on-base percentage.

The Friars will travel to South Kingstown, R.I. for a midweek game against URI. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
