PROVIDENCE, R.I.- It was announced today (March 23) that Providence College softball student-athlete
Emily Jonte (Allen, Texas) was named BIG EAST Player of the Week, while
Alannah Hopkins (Sylva, N.C.) earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll following strong performances in a three-game sweep of DePaul.
Jonte led the Friars offensively, batting .667 (6-for-9) with two doubles, seven RBI and five runs scored across three games. She also recorded a .700 on-base percentage and an .889 slugging percentage.
Hopkins made an impact both at the plate and in the circle. The senior hit .500 (1-for-2) with one RBI, while also posting a 1-0 record with a 1.75 ERA in the circle. She struck out seven batters and allowed just two earned runs across 8.0 innings pitched.
