PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Three Providence College field hockey players were featured on the 2025 NFHCA Division I Watchlist, powered by Performance Sports Events (PSE). The NFHCA released its annual preseason watchlist on Aug. 28. Juniors
Bo Martina,
Macie Pennisi and
Florencia Talarico represented Providence College. Pennisi and Talarico earn the recognition for the second-consecutive year. One-hundred and ninety-five student athletes spanning 64 Division I institutions comprised the list overall.
Martina, a midfielder, was recently announced as one of three unanimous selections to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team on Aug. 26. She is coming off a sophomore campaign in 2024 in which she earned All-BIG EAST First Team and NFHCA Division I All-Northeast Region First-Team honors. She played all 17 games with 16 appearances in the starting line-up. Martina led the team in scoring with 18 points on five goals and a team-high eight assists. Nine of her 18 points came during BIG EAST regular-season action on three goals and three assists. Additionally, she was a three-time BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll selection.
Pennisi, a defender, joined Martina on the 2025 Preseason All-BIG EAST Team. She started all 17 games for the Friars in 2024 and finished third on the team in points (12) with five goals and two assists. Her five goals and 12 points marked single-season career highs. She tallied a season-high four points vs. Holy Cross on two goals, marking her the first multi-goal game of her career. Pennisi claimed BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week honors on Sept. 24, 2024.
Talarico, a midfielder, previously earned All-BIG EAST Second Team and NFHCA Division I All-Northeast Region Second-Team honors in 2023. That same year, she was tabbed BIG EAST Freshman of the Year. Last season, Talarico played all 17 games and appeared in the starting line-up 12 times. She registered three assists for three points.

2025 NFHCA Division I Watchlist
Providence is slated to open the 2025 campaign against Boston University on Friday, Aug. 29. The game is slated to start at 4:00 p.m. on New Balance Field in Boston, Mass. A live stream of the match will be available on ESPN+.
