Cancelled Event: Softball versus Tarleton State

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Providence College softball team defeated Charleston Southern, 3-1, on Sunday, Feb. 19 in Charleston, S.C. The Friars improved to 5-5 overall this season.
GAME NOTES
-Senior Tiana Wren (Glen Lyon, Penn.) hit an RBI single at her first at-bat. Junior Jacque Harrington (Bedford, N.H.) scored the run for the Friars.
-Sophomore Emma Douma (Midland Park, N.J.) scored a run for the Friars in the first to extend their lead to 2-0.
-In the second inning, Harrington homered to center field to give the Friars a 3-1 advantage.
-The last five innings remained scoreless for both teams.
-Junior Tori Grifone (Sussex, N.J.) pitched a complete game for the Friars. She allowed three hits while striking out nine batters.
ON DECK
After a weekend off, the Friars will face Merrimack College on Wednesday, March 1 in North Andover, Mass.
