SERIES BREAKDOWN - PROVIDENCE VS. DENVER...
Since 2000, the Pioneers have won each of the 13 matchups against the Friars.
When the teams last met in the 2021 season, the Pioneers defeated the Friars in the first semifinal round of the BIG EAST Tournament, 14-5.
LAST WEEKEND AT VILLANOVA... Providence fell to Villanova on April 16 by a score of 18-13. Jack Horrigan led the offense with three goals and Matt Grillo led in points (five) off of two goals and three assists. Harris made 10 saves in net.
SCOUTING DENVER... Denver enters Saturday's game at 7-5 overall and 2-1 in BIG EAST play. The Pioneers are coming off of a 18-4 win against St. John's. Denver averages 13.3 goals per game with an average of 45.4 shots.
PLAYERS TO WATCH... Attackman JJ Sillstrop leads the team in points (44) with 27 goals and 17 assists. He is followed by classmate Jack Hannah who has 35 points off of 25 goals and 10 assists.
Alec Stathakis has taken the majority of face-off duties for Denver. Stathakis is 182-381. In net, junior Jack Thompson has seen the majority of time, starting 10 games. He holds a 12.16 goals against average and a .511 save percentage with a 6-4 record.
