PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College men's lacrosse team fell to the #13 Denver Pioneers, 16-3, on Saturday, April 23 at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium in Providence, R.I. Providence moves to 5-8 overall, 0-4 in BIG EAST play.
First Quarter:
-Denver tallied the first three goals of the game in the first while Providence remained scoreless, to take a 3-0 lead into the second quarter.
Second Quarter:
-The Pioneers scored the opening two goals of the quarter to gain a 5-0 lead before
Ty Thureson got the Friars on the board, 5-1. Thureson was assisted by
Ryan Bell on his third goal of the season.
-Denver led, 5-1, at the half.
Third Quarter:
-Denver started off the quarter with two more goals, 7-1.

Michael Hughes scored for the Friars at 2:39 to make it 7-2, for his second goal of the season.
-The Pioneers found the back of the net two more times before the end of the third, sending the teams into the fourth quarter 9-2.
Fourth Quarter:
-Denver scored the first seven goals of the fourth quarter belonged to Denver push the Pioneers to a 16-2 lead.

Matt Grillo put one in for the Friars with 2:06 remaining. Grillo was assisted by
Rainier Lee, who earned his first career point on the assist.
-The Pioneers defeated the Friars, 16-3.
