FAIRFIELD, Conn.- The Providence College men's lacrosse team fell to Fairfield, 15-11, on March 19 in Fairfield Conn. The Friars move to 4-4 on the 2022 season with the loss.
First Quarter:
- The Friars struck first with a goal from
Matt Grillo at 9:02.
- Fairfield responded with 1:09 remaining in the quarter to send the teams into the second tied, 1-1.
Second Quarter:
-The Stags scored the opening three goals of the quarter to gain a three-goal advantage 4-1.

Drew Edwards and
Chris Cusolito found the back of the net to cut into Fairfield's lead, 3-4, before the Stags scored three more times to take a 7-3 lead into the half.
Third Quarter:
-Fairfield opened the half strong, scoring the first two goals on the quarter to push its lead to six, 9-3.

Michael Chabra and Grillo each scored twice in the third quarter while
Evan McGreen added one, bringing the Friars within three heading into the fourth, 8-11.
Fourth Quarter:
- Chabra,
Ryan Bell and
Drew Edwards each scored for the Friars in the fourth, but four Fairfield goals kept the Stags ahead, 15-11.
Game Notes:
- Chabra recorded his first career hat trick.
- Grillo recorded his 17
th career hat trick.
- Quinn Mcconnaughey recorded a team-high five groundballs.
- Gibson Linehan tallied two caused turnovers for the Friars.
