Providence College Softball Announces Four NLI Signings

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College softball Head Coach Jill Karwoski announced today (Nov. 11) that four student-athletes have signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Providence College as a member of the softball team.
 
"I want to be the first to welcome and congratulate our 2023 signees and their families to Friartown!", Head Coach Jill Karwoski said. "We are enthusiastic over the potential impact each of these athletes will make in our program and on campus. With their commitment to our culture, we are confident we will continue to be competitive in the BIG EAST Conference and position ourselves to compete for a championship."
 
The Friars' class of 2023 consists of Brianna De La Fuente (Metuchen, N.J.), Emma Eitchen (Alamo, Calif.), Cameron Dunn (Bothell, Wash.) and Alyssa Twomey (Warwick, R.I.).
 
De La Fuente, a first baseman and catcher, is joining the Friars from Metuchen High School (N.J.). She earned GMC All-White Division honors and won the GMC White Division Championship in 2022. De La Fuente also plays for New Jersey Intensity.
 
Eitchen, a catcher, currently plays for Monte Vista High School (Calif.). In 2021 she earned All-League First Team honors and won the Tier I Alliance National Championship. She has been a varsity starter for the past four years and has captained her squad for three seasons (2021-2023). Eitchen also competes for the Warrior Academy.  
 
Dunn, an infielder, currently attends Mountlake Terrace High School (Wash.) while being a member of the Washington Ladyhawks in her showcase seasons. She has received First-Team All-Area recognition in 2021 and 2022. In 2022, Dunn became a PGF Futures Regional Finalist while leading her travel team in batting average, slugging percentage and home run's.
 
Twomey joins the Friars as a pitcher from Pilgrim High School (R.I.). She earned First Team All-Division and First Team All-State in 2021 and 2022. As a junior she was recognized as the Rhode Island Gatorade Player of the Year. Twomey competes for the Bombers Elite.
