PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College was well-represented on the first set of BIG EAST Field Hockey Weekly Awards to start the 2021 fall season.
Roos Michiels (Noord-Brabrant, The Netherlands) was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week, while
Asia Porter (Somerset, Mass.) earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.

She also scored her first collegiate goal in Providence's season-opening victory against Bryant on Aug. 27. The Friars' 2-1 victory over Boston University on Aug. 29 helped PC snap a six-game winless streak vs. the Terriers.
Porter made her season debut in the cage on Aug. 29 in a 2-1 victory over Boston University. She withstood heavy offensive pressure from the Terriers, as the Friars were outshot 16-5 (13-4 SOG). The Terriers also were awarded 11 offensive corners. Porter earned the victory with 12 saves.
