PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College rising junior
Brenna Cavallaro (Matamoras, Pa.) has been selected to participate in the 2021 NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Training, scheduled for June 17-18. She is one of 194 student-athletes spanning all three NCAA divisions, who will be tasked with exploring their personal values, leadership characteristics and develop a foundational understanding of self-awareness.
This unique virtual programming experience — this year titled "What's Your Leadership DNA?" — helps participants gain an understanding of the importance of leading themselves before leading others and how to live out personal values on a daily basis. The training also focuses on understanding how to recognize emotions and how doing so impacts one's thoughts, behaviors and leadership decisions.
Cavallaro, a defender on the field hockey team, started all 11 games for the Friars during the 2020-21 campaign. She is a two-time NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad selection and enters the 2021-22 academic year as a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) Executive Board, serving as Vice President of Community Engagement.
