Field Hockey Student-Athletes Honored For Academic Success

Twelve Friars have been named to the NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Twelve student-athletes on the Providence College field hockey team have been named to the NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad. The NFHCA released its 2020 honorees on March 18. This year, over 1,200 student-athletes from more than 75 Division I institutions earned recognition.
 
Among the honorees for the Friars are graduate student Marlies Kool (Rosmalen, The Netherlands), seniors Maddie Babineau (Grimsby, Ontario) and Sydney Cramer (Sciota, Pa.), sophomores Brenna Cavallaro (Matamoras, Pa.), Tori Colautti (Westminster, Mass.), Nora Goddard-Despot (North Vancouver, British Columbia) and Lisa McNamara (Barre, Vt.) and freshmen Emily Antunes (Lebanon, N.J.), Bella Carrozza (Ridgefield, Conn.), Eleonore de Keyser (Brussels, Belgium), Ally DeCoste (Braintree, Mass.) and Marley Mailloux (Hampstead, N.H.).
 
The National Academic Squad program honors collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year and high school juniors and seniors who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year.

Three Division I academic awards remain to be announced — the NFHCA Division I Scholars of Distinction will be announced on March 25 and the NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Awards will be released on March 29. The NFHCA Division I National Scholar-Athlete will be announced on June 15, 2021.
