PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced that Providence College is among the list of programs to earn the 2019 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award.
The award recognizes NCAA Division I field hockey programs that earned a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester of the 2019-20 school year.
Providence College field hockey has been featured on the list of NFHCA Academic Team Award winners on a regular basis over the years, as the program competes successfully in the classroom year in and year out. This year, the Friars earned a 3.36 team GPA.
The NFHCA will release its Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA National Academic Squad on March 10
th. To be honored on the list, student-athletes must hold a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 through the first semester of the 2019-20 academic year.
