PROVIDENCE R.I. – Providence College softball Head Coach
Jill Karwoski announced today (Sept. 7) that Bill Hillhouse will join her staff as the pitching coach. Hillhouse's most recent coaching experience included two fall seasons as a pitching coach consultant for Drexel University and the University of Georgia.
"We are very fortunate to have Bill join our staff this year," Karwoski said. "With his professional pitching experience, he is going to add depth to our staff while providing an unmatched layer of instruction for our athletes. I truly look forward to seeing our pitchers progress over the course of the year under Bill's guidance."
Hillhouse has also been the owner of the House of Pitching located in Erie, Pa. since 2003. The House of Pitching teaches fastpitch softball around the world to all ages and genders. He works with national teams worldwide to prepare them for international events and helps national programs with different pitching development plans.
Prior to his coaching background and owning the House of Pitching, he played internationally where he won the Most Valuable Player at the Colt's National Championship in New Zealand. Hillhouse was also the youngest pitcher to play on the U.S. Men's National Team where he won the Most Valuable Pitcher title at the Pan Am Tournament in 1993. He was a two-time member of the United States Men's National Fastpitch Softball Team.
