PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College softball Head Coach Kerri Jacklets announced the addition of Taylor Stephen (Monarch Beach, Calif.) to the class of 2019 today (Wednesday, May 06).
Stephen's was a two-year captain and four year varsity starter at JSerra Catholic High School. She earned Second-Team Trinity All-League her sophomore year and First-Team Trinity All-League her junior year. In her junior year, she also was named JS Varsity Offensive Player of the Year. Stephen's currently leads her team in RBI. Additionally, she has been on the honor roll all four years and played basketball her freshman and sophomore years, lettering once.
"Taylor is a great player to have on our team," said JSerra Catholic High School Head Coach Shae Askew. "She is our team captain. Taylor loves the game, works hard and has a positive attitude. She is light hearted and keeps the dugout loose when needed. She is selfless and a true team player. I'm assuming she will be studying law by the way she likes to debate everything, and I mean everything. She will make a good lawyer someday. Taylor is truly grateful for her opportunity to continue her softball career at Providence, but she has worked hard to achieve her goals. She is the epitome of student-athlete. I'm looking forward to rooting for her and the Friars next season."
