PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College softball Head Coach Kerri Jacklets announced today [June 11], that Nicole Lundstrom (Rehoboth, Mass.) will attend Providence College and join the softball program beginning in the fall of 2014. Lundstrom, who attended nearby Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School, spent the 2013-14 academic year at Syracuse University. Lundstrom will have three years of eligibility remaining.
During her rookie season in the intercollegiate ranks, Lundstrom started 49 games, batted .312 (48-154) and recorded 48 hits, 32 RBI and 29 runs. She also totaled 13 extra-base hits, including six home runs and six doubles. Lundstrom posted an impressive slugging percentage of .481 and a .408 on-base percentage. Lundstrom's batting average was fourth-best in the Syracuse line-up, while her 32 RBI ranked second on the team.
During her high school career at Dighton-Rehoboth, Lundstrom was a three-time Boston Herald All-Star, Taunton Gazette All-Star and Sun Chronicle All-Star. She was voted Dighton-Rehoboth's Best Offensive Player in 2012 and 2013. As a senior, she batted .656 with nine home runs, 35 RBI and a .747 on-base percentage.
