PC junior Sara Surosky (Elmira, N.Y.) pitched a complete game, allowing two runs on eight hits and striking out two batters. At the plate, senior Tara Sullivan (Tualatin, Ore.) batted 2-for-3 with one RBI. Syracuse's Erin Downey tossed seven innings and allowed four runs on six hits, while posting six strikeouts.

The Orange took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, but the Friars tied the game on a RBI single by freshman Gina Rossi (Bakersfield, Calif.) in the second inning. The game remained tied until the fifth inning when Syracuse scored two runs on a sacrifice fly by Cassie Morales and an RBI single by Erin Gray.
