HANOVER, N.H. - The Providence College softball team split a non-conference double header against Dartmouth, 4-5, 12-7, on Wednesday, April 14 in Hanover, N.H.

The Friars salvaged the second game of the double header as they scored 10 runs in the fourth inning en route to a 12-7 triumph. The inning was highlighted by sophomores Michelle Willette (Moorpark, Calif.) and Elena Romero (Chula Vista, Calif.), who each belted home runs. Willette also added an RBI double in the fourth inning. Freshman Rachel Bartholomew (Coto de Caza, Calif.) finished with three hits, three runs and two RBI.

In the first game, Providence took a 4-0 lead in the fifth inning as Jaclyn Treveloni (Ashland, Mass.) hit a two-run home run. Treveloni finished with two hits, while freshman Shannon Garvin (Fresno, Calif.) added three hits. The Big Green bounced back with three runs in the sixth inning and two in the seventh to win, 5-4. Dartmouth scored the game-winning run on a bases loaded single by Kerry Conway.

The Friars are back in action on Friday, April 16 with a BIG EAST double header at Syracuse.
