BOSTON, MASS. - The Providence College softball team was defeated by Boston University, 3-0 on Wednesday, April 2 in Boston, Mass.
The Terriers scored the only run they would need in the first inning as Abbey Pauley crossed the plate on a wild pitch after she had tripled. BU added two more runs in the third inning to secure the win. The Friars managed only two hits off Terriers pitcher Erin McDonald, who pitched seven innings and struckout three batters. Sophomore Jackie Karsnia (Spring, Texas) extended her hitting streak to seven games as she accounted for one of PC's two hits. Freshman Nicole Hull (Portland, Oregon.) had the other hit for Providence. On the mound, sophomore Nicole Bartholomew (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) pitched six innings and struckout seven BU batters.
Providence (8-8, 0-2 BIG EAST) will host Notre Dame in a BIG EAST double header on Saturday, April 5 at Raymond Field in Providence, R.I.
