ORLANDO, Fla. - The Providence College softball team captured its third and fourth consecutive wins, defeating, Quinnipiac, 10-0, and Indiana Perdue, Fort Wayne, 10-4, in 13 innings on March 11 at the Rebel Games.

In the game versus IPFW, freshman Michelle Willette (Moorpark, Calif.) broke open a 4-4 tie in the top-half of the 13th inning, as she doubled to drive in the game-winnig run. The Friars trailed, 4-3 going into the 13th inning, but they erupted for seven runs to to seal the win. On the mound, junior Cori Van Dusen (Riverside, Calif.) earned the victory as she came in in relief for senior Melissa Peterson (Huntington Beach, Calif.), who allowed just two hits in four plus innings of action.

Against Quinnipiac, the Friars (4-3) scored the only run they would need in the first inning as sophomore Jackie Karsnia (Spring, Texas) scored off an RBI single by Willette. Sophomore Nicole Bartholomew (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) pitched five shutout innings to earn the win. Karsnia finished with three hits, including two doubles, and Willette also had three hits to lead the Friars, who scored five runs in the third inning and added four in the fourth inning.
