Friar Softball Squad Splits With Boston University

PROVIDENCE, RI - The Friar softball squad split with the Boston University on Tuesday in Providence, RI. The Friars won the first game, 4-3 in 10 innings while the Terriers took the second game, 2-0.

In the first game, sophomore Robyn West (Gansevoort, NY) pitched a six hitter on her way to her fifth win of the season. With the score knotted 3-3, sophomore Kerri Jacklets slammed a double in the bottom of the tenth inning and junior Heather Nathan hit a single up the middle for the gamewinning rbi for the Friars.

In a six inning second game, the Terriers scored twice in the fifth inning after back to back singles by juniors Amy Parker and Nili Schnairsohn. The Friars were riddled by two errors in the inning and couldn't recover in the game shortened by darkness. Providence tallied two hits while the Terriers tallied five hits.

The Friars improve to 7-16 overall and Boston University improves to 12-8.
