Stephanie Reilly embarks on her third cross country season and fourth year at Providence College. On January 15, 2015, Reilly was named the Providence College Women’s Head Track Coach, as well as an assistant for both the men’s and women’s cross country programs.

In her first indoor and outdoor seasons with the Friars, Reilly assisted coaching Emily Sisson to two NCAA titles, as well as helping six Friars reach the NCAA First Round in their respective events.

Reilly continued his coaching success into her second season with the Friars as she assisted the women’s cross country team to a fourth place finish at the 2015 NCAA Cross Country Championships and two athletes to All-America honors (Sarah Collins and Catarina Rocha).  Reilly has been instrumental in the development of Brianna Ilarda and Jordan Mann. Reilly has taken her experience as an Olympic steeplechaser to help lead Ilarda and Mann to drastic improvements. Both Ilarda and Mann earned All-America honors during the 2016 Outdoor season.

Reilly’s third season was another successful one, as the women’s team captured the BIG EAST Cross Country title and the Northeast Regional title. Reilly helped coach both Millie Paladino and Ilarda to BIG EAST titles during the 2016-17 season. Ilarda continued her rise as prolific steeplechaser by winning her second consecutive Penn Relays title, her second consecutive BIG EAST title, and earning First Team All-America honors in the Steeplechase.

Reilly, a 2001 graduate of Providence College, ran under Director of Track and Field Ray Treacy during her tenure at Providence. As a member of the cross country/track team, Reilly was a captain in 1999 (indoor track) and 2001 (outdoor track) as well as being a member of the cross country team that won the 1999 BIG EAST Championship. She earned All New England honors in 1998 in cross country and was an NCAA provisional outdoor qualifier in the 3,000 meters.

The Ireland native went on to compete at the World Track Championships in 2011 and competed at the 2012 London Olympics in the 3,000-meter steeplechase for Ireland.

In September of 2006, Reilly became the Assistant Cross Country/Track and Field Coach at Bryant University and then was promoted to Head Coach in August of 2007. At Bryant, she coached two student-athletes to five Northeast Conference Championship titles in cross country, indoor and outdoor track. The women’s cross country team also placed second at the Northeast Conference Cross Country Championships in both 2013 and 2014.

Reilly has also been a USTFCCCA track and field executive committee NEC representative and is currently a NCAA Olympic Sports Liaison Committee Member for 2014-2018.

While at Providence, Reilly earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Policy and Management and a Master’s in Education for Guidance/Counseling. Reilly currently resides in Worchester, Mass. with her husband, Paul, and their two sons.
