PROVIDENCE, R.I.– The Providence College women's cross country team competed in the NCAA Cross Country Championship on Saturday, November 22 in Columbia, Mo. The race was held at the Gans Creek Championship Cross Country Course. The Friars finished 32
nd in the women's 6k race as they were making their 33
rd appearance all-time and fifth consecutive at the championship.

The Friar women's team was led by sophomore
Anna Gardiner (Downpatrick, Northern Ireland), who finished 123rd (99
th scoring, 20:04.6.). Senior
Cara Laverty (Derry, Ireland), sophomore Gabby Schmidt (Brisbane, Australia), freshman
Kate Currie (Christchurch, New Zealand) and sophomore
Emily Bush (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) all scored for the Friars. Laverty was 197
th (161 scoring, 20:34.3) and Schmidt finished 199
th (163 scoring, 20:35.1). Rounding out the scoring for Providence was Currie (208th, 172 scoring, 20:41.9) and Bush (235th, 198 scoring, 21:04.1).
The Friars qualified automatically for the NCAA Championship after capturing a second-place finish at the 2025 NCAA Northeast Regional Championship on Nov. 15. at Hopkinton Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, N.H.
