The Friar women will be led by junior
Maeve O'Neill (Cork, Ireland). A two-time All-American, O'Neill broke her own indoor program record in the 800 meters at the Saucony Battle for Boston on Feb. 22, clocking 2:00.33. The time ranks ninth all-time in NCAA indoor history, set the Irish senior indoor record and met the qualifying standard for the World Championships. She is scheduled to compete in the 800 meters and the 4 x 800 relay. Last season, O'Neill finished second in the 800 meters (2:04.97) and helped the 4 x 800 relay team to a second-place finish at the 2025 BIG EAST Indoor Championships.
Senior
Cara Laverty (Derry, Ireland) will compete in the mile and the 4 x 800 relay. She placed sixth in the mile (4:44.68) at last year's championship and was part of the runner-up 4 x 800 relay. Laverty ran an indoor personal-best 4:40.34 in the mile at the Terrier Classic on Jan. 30.
Providence will have three competitors in the 5,000 meters including sophomore Gabby Schmidt (Brisbane, Australia) and seniors
Jane Buckley (Cork, Ireland) and Níamh O'Mahony (Kerry, Ireland).
Four Friars will compete in the 3,000 meters including sophomore
Emily Bush (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) and freshmen

Lucia West (Raleigh, N.C.). Bush and Currie are also slated to run on the DMR.
In the 400 meters, sophomore
Chloe Higgins (Morristown, N.J.) and senior
Jill Fenerty (Franklin, Mass.) will represent the Friars. Higgins owns the team's top time this season with a 56.35 at the Valentine Invitational which ranks third in indoor program history. Both Higgins and Fenerty will also compete on the 4 x 400 relay.
On the men's side, sophomores
Elliott Pugh (Tauranga, New Zealand) and
Ryan LoCicero (Bloomfield, N.J.) will compete in the 3,000 and 5,000 meters, respectively. Pugh posted a personal-best 8:04.86 in the 3,000 meters at the Terrier Classic and also ran a sub-four-minute mile (3:59.60) at the Valentine Invitational. LoCicero recorded a personal-best 14:19.00 in the 5,000 meters at the Boston University Season Opener.
Sophomore
Thomas Breen (Providence, R.I.) will race in the 800 meters and 4 x 800 relay. Breen set a personal best in the 800 meters at the Terrier Classic, the seventh-fastest indoor mark in program history, and broke the program record in the 600 meters (1:20.17) at the Harvard Beantown Challenge. He was a member of the 4 x 800 relay (second place) and DMR (third place) at last year's championship.
