Efosa named to All-BIG EAST Second Team; Olsen claimed All-BIG EAST Honorable Mention recognition.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The BIG EAST Conference announced its All-BIG EAST Teams on Thursday, March 6, just ahead of the 2025 BIG EAST Tournament, which is slated for March 7-10, at Mohegan Sun Arena. Providence College graduate guard Grace Efosa (Lawrence, Mass.) and senior forward Olivia Olsen (Niskayuna, N.Y.) were among the honorees. Efosa was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team, while Olsen claimed Honorable Mention recognition.
 
Efosa is the only Friar on the roster to start all 31 games this season. She paced the team and finished 13th among BIG EAST players in scoring (13.4 ppg) and averaged 4.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. Efosa currently ranks 29th on the Friars' all-time scoring list with 1,101 career points. During the 2024-25 campaign, she recorded a team-best 21 double-digit scoring games, including six games with 20-or-more points. During BIG EAST Conference regular-season play, Efosa averaged 11.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. She was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on three occasions this season and was a member of the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team in October.
 
Olsen claimed BIG EAST honors for the second-straight season, having earned Second Team accolades as a junior in 2024. She played 31 games for Providence this season with 30 appearances in the starting line-up. Olsen averaged 10.7 points, 1.1 assists and led the Friars in rebounding (8.4 rpg) and blocked shots (1.4 bpg), while shooting an impressive 51-percent from the field (132-261). Olsen finished the regular-season tied for the league lead in double-doubles, with 10. She also ranked second in the BIG EAST in rebounding (8.4 rpg) and fourth in blocked shots (1.4 bpg). She was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, twice, during the regular season and joined Efosa on the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team in October. Olsen currently ranks fourth on the Friars' all
 
The Friars (13-18) begin BIG EAST Tournament action tomorrow [March 7]. The No. 7 seed Friars will take on the No. 10 seed Georgetown Hoyas in the First Round at 1:30 p.m. on the BIG EAST Digital Network via FloCollege. The tournament will be held at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. The winner of the First Round game between Providence and Georgetown will advance to the Quarterfinals on Saturday, March 8 at 7:00 p.m. against No. 2 seed Creighton.
