PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College softball Head Coach
Kelsey Christensen announced today (July 20) that Alex Gustafson will join her staff as an assistant coach.
"I could not be more excited to welcome Alex to Friartown," Christensen said. "Her dedication to the overall development of student-athletes is unmatched. I know her skill set and expertise in coaching, leadership, and biomechanics will be an invaluable addition to our program. I am thrilled to call her a teammate once again and know that this program is better with her in it."
Prior to her arrival at Providence College, Gustafson spent time as an assistant coach at Boston College (2014-2015) and Medford Youth Girls Softball (2009). Most recently, Gustafson has provided private lessons in hitting, fielding and throwing in the Massachusetts and Rhode Island area.
Gustafson was a member of the Holy Cross softball team from 2010-14, serving as a captain in her junior and senior seasons. During her time at Holy Cross, Gustafson earned Second Team All-Patriot League honors in 2012, as well as Patriot League Softball All-Academic and Patriot League Softball Academic Honor Roll recognition in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
Gustafson earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from Holy Cross in 2014 prior to earning her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in 2018.
