PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College first-year women's basketball Head Coach Erin Batth announced today [March 27] that Reyna Frost will join her staff as an assistant coach. Frost spent the previous two seasons as a graduate manager at Michigan, where she shared the sidelines with Batth during the 2022-23 campaign.
"Adding Reyna to our staff was an absolute no brainer," Batth said. "Reyna was an All-American at Central Michigan and also played in Italy's top professional league. She will play a huge role in the development of our student athletes. Reyna's work ethic is unmatched, with a focus on excellence and with a joyful spirit. Her role as a graduate manager at the University of Michigan exposed her to all aspects of college coaching. She gained valuable experience in individual workouts and skill development, scouting and on and off-campus recruiting, playing a significant role in Michigan's success. We both value the importance of relationships and the overall well-being of student athletes. Reyna is a rising star and is an amazing role model."
Michigan qualified for the NCAA Tournament during each of her two seasons with the program, advancing to the Elite Eight in 2021-22 and finishing with a 25-7 overall record. In 2022-23, the Maize and Blue posted a 23-10 overall record (11-7 Big Ten) and was ranked in the national polls for 19-consecutive weeks. Michigan was ranked as high as No. 12 during the 2022-23 campaign and checked in at No. 18 in the final poll heading into the NCAA Tournament. Michigan advanced to the Second Round, before falling to ninth-ranked and No. 3 seed LSU, 66-42, on March 19.
Prior to her arrival at Michigan, Frost spent the 2020-21 campaign at her alma mater, Central Michigan, as Director of Player Development. She helped guide CMU to the 2021 Mid-American Conference Tournament Title and an NCAA Tournament appearance. During her time as the director of player development, she helped with team travel, video breakdown, community outreach, scouting reports, position workouts, engaging with alumnae, social media and budget preparation.
During her playing career at Central Michigan, Frost was named the 2019 Mid-American Conference Player of the Year, earned Associated Press All-America Honorable Mention accolades, and graduated the all-time leader rebounding leader at Central Michigan and in the MAC, with 1,526 career boards.
