BOSTON, Mass.- The Providence College men's indoor track team competed in Boston, Mass. at the Boston University Terrier Classic on Friday, Jan. 27. Seven of the Friar men recorded personal records.
Four Friars set personal records in the 3000-meter run. DJ Principe (Johnston, R.I.) led the Friar men in the 3000-meter with a time of 7:54.74, marking a personal record. Following Principe was
Pat Thygesen (Brisbane, Australia) who set a personal record of 7:57.00,
Liam Back (New Plymouth, New Zealand) in 8:03.14,
David McGlynn (Waterford, Ireland) with a personal record of 8:08.27,
Shane Coffey (Naas, Ireland) also set a personal record of 8:14.08,
Jacob Hefele (Danbury, Conn.) in a time of 8:27.27, and
Sean Meehan (East Greenwich, R.I.) with a time of 8:31.99.
Will Rainey (San Jose, Calif.) set a personal record in the 400-meter with a time of 49.70. Following Rainey was
Brett Lehman (Lower Gwynedd, Pa.) in 49.86 and
Kyle Bloomer (Darien, Conn.) marking a personal record of 50.71.
Josh Lewin (West Chester, Pa.) finished the 800-meter with a time of 1:52.40.
Angus White (New Plymouth, New Zealand) ran a 2:26.52 in the 1000-meter.
Zane Powell (Auckland, New Zealand) finished the mile in 4:01.12.
Abdel Laadjel (Lucan, Ireland) set a personal record in the 5000-meter with a time of 13:50.03
The Friars are back in action Friday, Feb. 10 and Saturday, Feb. 11 at Boston University's Valentine Invitational.
