BOSTON, Mass.–The Providence College men's indoor track team competed in Boston, Mass. at the Boston University Valentine Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 11. Six of the Friar men set personal records.
Abdel Laadjel (Lucan, Ireland) and
Shane Coffey (Naas, Ireland) both set personal records in the 3000-meters of 7:54.51 and 8:12.37, respectively. Freshman
Luke Coffin (Annapolis, Md.) who is redshirting this indoor season also ran a personal record of 8:17.47.
DJ Principe (Johnston, R.I.) ran a personal record of 3:58.62 in the mile.
Zane Powell (Auckland, New Zealand) and
Pat Thygesen (Brisbane, Australia) also set personal records in the event of 4:00.95 and 4:01.31, respectively.
Liam Back (New Plymouth, New Zealand) followed with a 4:03.12 finish.
Josh Lewin (West Chester, Pa.) finished the 800-meters with a time of 1:51.29. In the 400-meters,
Brett Lehman (Lower Gwynedd, Pa.) led the Friars with a time of 49.68. Following Lehman was Will Rainey (San Jose, Calif.) in 49.70 and
Kyle Bloomer (Darien, Conn.) with a personal record of 50.02.
The Friars are back in action Saturday, Feb. 18 at the Brown University Invitational in Providence, R.I.
