PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College men's lacrosse team fell to Brown University, 22-10, this Saturday, March 5 at Anderson Stadium. The Friars drop to 2-3 on the season.
First Quarter:
• Drew Edwards got the Friars on the board, 1-0, just 47 seconds into the game for his second goal of the season.
• Evan McGreen followed up, 2-0, with a goal at 1:32. McGreen was assisted by
Ryan Bell.
• Edwards found the back of the net again at 2:18 with his second goal of the day to give the Friars a 3-0 lead.
• Chris Cusolitio made it 4-0 with his fourth goal of the season at 2:56.
• Brown got on the board, 4-1, at 3:33.
• Matt Grillo responded with a goal, 5-1, with 6:08 remaining in the quarter.
• The Brown Bears finished off the period with three straight goals to cut into the Friars lead, 5-4, heading into the second quarter.
Second Quarter:
• Brown opened the second quarter with four-consecutive goals to take an 8-5 lead.
• Michael Chabra scored on the man-up and Grillo notched two more in the third to complete his 15
th career hat trick and tie things up, 8-8.
• Brown finished the period with two more goals to send the Friars into the half trailing by two, 10-8.
Third Quarter:
• Brown scored six unanswered goals in the third period, improving their lead to 16-8.
Fourth Quarter:
• The Brown Bears started off the fourth quarter with another six consecutive goals, 22-8.
• Cusolito and Grillo each put in a goal to end the game, 22-10.
Game Notes:
• Five different players scored for the Friars on Saturday.
• Cusolito recorded his first career multi-goal game (two) and Edwards recorded his first multi-goal game as a Friar (two).
• Grillo recorded his 15
th career hat trick on a team-high four goals.
