A collection of highlights from the 2019-20 women's basketball season.

2019-20 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL SEASON REVIEW
Record: 13-19 (3-15 BIG EAST, 8th place)

• Providence completed the season with a 13-19 overall record and a 3-15 mark in the BIG EAST Conference (eighth place).
 
• Eight of the Friars' 15 losses in BIG EAST regular-season play were decided by 10 points or less, including seven losses within single digits.
 
• Providence entered the 2020 BIG EAST Women's Basketball Tournament as the No. 8 seed and defeated No. 9 seed Georgetown, 49-46, in the First Round on March 6 in Chicago, Ill. The Friars entered the tournament 0-3 all-time as the No. 8 seed and picked up its first victory at that seed placement.
 
• The Friars won a BIG EAST Tournament game in each of the last two seasons. In 2019, Providence defeated Xavier, 70-62, in the First Round. This year, the Friars posted a 49-46 win over Georgetown in the First Round. It marks the first time since 1994 and 1995 that the Friars have won a game in the BIG EAST Tournament in back-to-back seasons.
 
Mary Baskerville (51) and Alyssa Geary (49) each recorded 45+ blocked shots in 2019-20. The duo is ranked in the top-three all-time in Providence College history for blocked shots by a sophomore. Mary Ann McCoy leads the way in that category with 68 blocked shots, Baskerville is second (51) and Geary ranks third.
 
Mary Baskerville finished first in the BIG EAST in blocked shots (1.8 bpg), while Alyssa Geary finished tied for fourth (1.5 bpg).
 
Mary Baskerville is the first player in program history to record 50+ blocked shots in back-to-back seasons. She finished the 2019-20 campaign with 51 rejections. In 2018-19, she recorded a program record for a freshman with 53 blocked shots.

Alyssa Geary set the Providence College record for blocked shots in a BIG EAST Tournament game, with six, vs. Georgetown on March 6 in the first round. The previous record was set by Monika Roberts (4 vs. Seton Hall in 2001).
 
Kaela Webb hit 78 three-point baskets, which ranks sixth all-time in program history for three-pointers in a single season. Through two seasons on the team, Webb has hit 125 three-pointers overall, which is tied for 10th all-time in program history with Jen Davis (1993-97).
 
• As a team, the Friars hit 188 three-point field goals, marking the seventh-highest total for a single season in program history. Under the direction of fourth-year Head Coach, the Friars have been one of the most prolific three-point shooting teams in program history. In 2018-19, the Friars finished with 218 three pointers (second), 192 in 2017-18 (t-fourth) and 192 in 2016-17 (t-fourth).
 
• Providence won the 2019 Ocean State Tip-Off Tournament with victories over Bryant (76-32) and Rhode Island (58-51). Earlette Scott was named to the All-Tournament Team, while Mary Baskerville was selected as Most Outstanding Player. 
 
• The Friars defeated Bryant, 76-32, in the opening round of the Ocean State Tip-Off Tournament on Dec. 7. Providence's 44-point victory is the largest since defeating Syracuse by 46 (106-60) on Feb. 20, 1991.
 
• The Friars improved to 14-5 under fourth-year Head Coach Jim Crowley when competing at in-season tournaments. In 2019-20, the Friars were 3-2, including a 2-0 mark in the Ocean State Tip-Off Tournament and a 1-2 mark at the Lobo Invitational.
 
• Providence College played 21 of its 32 games on the road.
 
• The Friars finished non-conference play with a 9-3 record. Jim Crowley has led the Friars to at least eight wins in regular-season non-conference play during each of his four years at the helm.
 
Mary Baskerville was named to the 2019-20 Preseason All-BIG EAST Team, which was announced at the league's annual media day on Oct. 10. Baskerville was one of four unanimous selections.
 
• Providence finished first in the BIG EAST in three-point field goal percentage and 36th in the nation, having converted 188-534 attempts from beyond the arc (.352). Kaela Webb finished the year ranked second in the BIG EAST in three-point percentage (.408, 78-191) and tied for second in three-point field goals made per game (2.4).
 
• The Friars finished second in the BIG EAST and 58th in the nation (among 348 team) in field-goal percentage defense (.373). Providence held 17 of its 32 opponents below 40-percent shooting from the field during the season and posted an 11-6 record when doing so.
 
• The Friars defeated Boston College, 76-70, on Nov. 17 in Providence, R.I. It marked the third-straight victory over the Eagles in the all-time series. The last time Providence won three-straight games against Boston College dates back to the 1991-92 through 1992-93 seasons.
 
• Providence College Head Coach Jim Crowley picked up his 300th NCAA Division I victory on Nov. 9 as the Friars defeated UMass, 72-63. Crowley compiled 258 NCAA Division I wins in 16 seasons at St. Bonaventure (2000-16) and 54 victories in four seasons at Providence (2016-20).
