Scott netted a career-best 20 points in the Friars' victory over Xavier on Sunday.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College sophomore guard Earlette Scott (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday, Jan. 27, marking the first league honor of her career with the Friars.
Scott averaged a team-best 16.5 points per game last week for the Friars and added 6.0 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game. She shot 9-17 from the field (.529), including 3-7 from beyond the arc (.429). Additionally, she hit 12-16 attempts from the foul line.
In the Friars' victory over Xavier, Scott scored a career-high 20 points, including 17 points in the second half to help Providence overcome an eight-point deficit in the third quarter. She shot 4-10 from the field against the Musketeers and hit 11-13 free throws overall, including a perfect 6-6 from the stripe in the final 1:47 of play. Scott also matched her career high on the glass with eight rebounds.
In the loss to Butler on Friday night, Scott scored 13 points on 5-7 shooting from the field and added four rebounds.
Through 21 games, Scott is averaging 8.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. She has been a member of the team's starting line-up five times, including each of the last four games.
The Friars return to action on Friday, Jan. 31 against BIG EAST foe Marquette at 8:00 p.m. (ET). The game will be played at the Al McGuire Center in Milwaukee, Wis. and will be broadcast on the BIG EAST Digital Network.
