• The Providence College men's hockey team recorded 24 wins in 2017-18, their fifth consecutive season with 20-plus wins and the fourth-most wins in a season in program history.
• The Friars made their fifth-consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament which is the second-longest active streak in the nation.
• Providence joined Denver as the only programs to appear in the last five NCAA Tournaments.
• With the 1-0 win over Clarkson in the NCAA East Regional Semifinal, the Friars posted just their third shutout in 34 NCAA Tournament games in program history.
• The team notched a double-digit win total (13) at Schneider Arena for the fifth-consecutive season. The senior class posted a 54-13-5 at home over the last four seasons (.785). The 13-3-3 record (.813) at home in 2016-17 was the second-best winning percentage posted at Schneider Arena in 44 seasons.
• The Friars' senior class from 2017-18 recorded 99 wins over four seasons, setting the program record for wins by a senior class.
• Providence finished Hockey East play at 13-7-4, good for third place in the league standings.
• The Friars made their fifth Hockey East semifinal appearance under Leaman and advanced to their first Hockey East title game since 2001 with a 3-2 overtime win over Northeastern.

SERIES HISTORY VS. AIC
• Providence and AIC meet for the second time in five years on Saturday at Schneider Arena. The last meeting ended as a 10-4 victory for the Friars on Oct. 19, 2013.
• Prior to 2013, the teams met 13 times from 1953-1989 with Providence taking 10 of those 13 matchups.
SCOUTING THE YELLOW JACKETS
• AIC finished the 2017-18 campaign at 15-20-4 (11-13-4), good for eighth in the Atlantic Hockey standings.
• Leading scorer Brennan Kapcheck returns after a seven-goal, 19-assist freshman season. Juniors Blake Christensen (13-10-23) and Janis Jaks (8-15-23) also return as top-three scorers for the Yellow Jackets.
• In goal, Stefano Durante posted solid numbers of 2.27 GAA and .911 save percentage in his rookie season in going 12-12-2 overall.
• Head Coach Eric Lang enters his third season at the helm, posting a 23-40-12 record over his first two seasons.
ELEVEN GAMES TO AIR ON NBC SPORTS BOSTON
Providence College Athletics announced that NBC Sports Boston, the broadcast home of the Boston Celtics will televise 11 men's hockey home games during the 2018-19 season. Eight of the 11 games will be shown live, while the remaining three games with be tape delayed following the conclusion of Celtics coverage.

Beginning with the 2018-19 hockey season, all Friars men's hockey games, in addition to all pregame and postgame network programming will be carried live on NewsRadio 104.7 FM. The agreement also includes 10 editions of the
Nate Leaman Coaches Show that will air throughout the season. Mike Logan, who is entering his 24th season as the voice of the Friars, will call all the live action this season on 104.7 FM. Logan also will host the
Nate Leaman Coaches show on 104.7 FM.
INCOMING CLASS
A promising incoming class boasts four NHL draft picks –

Jack Dugan (VGK),
Mikael Hakkarainen (CHI), and
Jay O'Brien (PHI). O'Brien became just the fourth member of the program to be drafted in the first round of the NHL Draft.

The Friars will take part in the 2018 Ice Breaker Tournament hosted by Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pa. from Oct. 12-13. Providence will face Miami in the opening game before matching up against either Notre Dame or Mercyhurst on Saturday night.
