Men's Hockey Adds Ben Hrebik To The 2026-27 Roster

The 2026 draft eligible goaltender backstopped the Barrie Colts to the OHL Championship Series.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College men's hockey has added Ben Hrebik (Milton, Ont.) to the roster for the 2026-27 season. Hrebik joins the Friars after signing an athletic aid agreement to attend Providence College.
 
The 6-foot-3, 204-pound goaltender backstopped the Barrie Colts to their first Bobby Orr Trophy as OHL Eastern Conference champions for the first time since 2013. Hrebik posted a 12-8 record with a 2.66 GAA, .922 save percentage, a league-high 650 saves and two shutouts over 20 playoff games for the Colts. He posted a 40-save shutout in Game 7 against the top-seeded Brantford Bulldogs and registered two games of at least 50 saves in the playoffs. In the 2025-26 regular season, Hrebik was 26-11-3 with a 2.81 GAA and .920 save percentage in 43 games played. He was a four-time OHL Goaltender of the Week selection, with three of those coming in the playoffs. In December, he earned OHL Goaltender of the Month accolades after posting a 1.50 GAA and .950 save percentage.
 
Hrebik also spent the 2024-25 season in Barrie where he was 21-9-2 with a 2.87 GAA and .920 save percentage. He participated in Development Camp with the Carolina Hurricanes in July of 2025 before earning an invite to Boston Bruins Rookie Camp in September of 2025. Hrebik finished at No. 31 in the final NHL Central Scouting Rankings for North American Goaltenders entering the 2026 NHL Draft.
